We’ve been saying that the standard in the ladies game in the BDO is superior to that of the men in the pdc and that has certainly borne out tonight

Fallon Sherrock has failed to reach a semi-final in each of the last four years in the Ladies’ World Championship at Lakeside and now here she is beating one of the top names in the pdc

The men at Alexandra Palace can count themselves lucky that the likes of Aileen de Graaf and Lorraine Winstanley aren’t competing

It’s about 90% sold out - some tickets still available for some of the weekday sessions, but going fast, unsurprisingly

The more you look at it, it’s an inspired decision by the BDO

An article from about a month ago says that only 36 tickets had been sold for the Tuesday Afternoon session and just one ‘all tournament’ package having been purchased at a cost of £831.50.

Yet a lass who’s never been within an ass‘s roar of winning the WOMEN’S title in multiple attempts in the BDO ranks rocks up to “ally pally” and beats a MAN in the PDC event in her first go.

The PDC seems like a very progressive organisation.
I’ve often wondered why some mid table league two club doesn’t sign a top pro woman. Unlikely to work, but you’d get crowds for a few weeks anyway

A league 2 club wouldn’t have the money to sign a top women’s player and it definitely wouldn’t work. The USWNT got hammered by some u15 boys team in America a while ago
