2021 All Ireland Football-Covid is a cod tyrone style

By the letter of the law, its a retake. But Morgan moving off the line had little to do with a penalty being missed in the manner this was.

You gotta roll that shit home.

So it should be a retake. Thanks.

By the letter of the law, yes.

But it’s a bit like one of those purely technical things that are generally ignored and you’re seriously clutching at straws to be expecting something semantic like that which is never enforced to be enforced.

I can’t remember a penalty been retaken in an intercounty match off the top of my head.

Its in the Joe Brolly thread

Thanks

I’m pretty sure I didn’t. Feel free to stick it up there if you find it. I said that you thought he played very well. I said he was grand. In that he scored a few frees and kept going but he fucked up his big chance. I’d give him 6.5 out of ten.
You on the other hand disappeared yourself up your own arse in a world of what might and should have happened. Bizarre.

In fairness they got a soft retake in the semi so you can see why they wanted a retake here.

You objected to the point about him playing well.

You’re also objecting to anything other than the classic outcome based narrative and the false that notion of inevitablility.

The official, “PC”, be nice to the winners narrative is that Tyrone did a job on Mayo. It’s complete bollocks.

Tyrone put in an OK performance. But it was no more than that and any sort of composure from Mayo in that second half should have seen them over the line. Despite a poor performance, they absolutely had the winning of the game at their mercy and they were the authors of their own downfall. They are the story. Not Tyrone, who are the most average All-Ireland winners for a long time and won effectively by default.

I objected to you saying he and conroy played well while also saying that Mayo were brilliant except for their shooting. I’d say your position on that is contradictory.
Your belief that the winning or losing of it was all down to Mayo is sheer lunacy and disrespectful to Tyrone but shure lookit you have the right to it so I’ll leave you off there.

You’ve literally just made up stuff I “said” there while proving my point about you buying into the official, PC, be nice to winners, inevitablist narrative.

I never said Mayo were “brilliant” apart from their shooting. They weren’t. But for all that they still had the upper hand for most of it and still made enough good chances which should have enabled them to win, and probably with some degree of comfort.

The reality is Mayo’s defeat was primarily down to self inflicted wounds. And the whole of Mayo and the whole of Ireland knows it.

There’s a difference between Mayo having the upper hand and having a lot of possession. Tyrone were happy to let them have the ball in the second half and usher them down dark alleys or out to the sideline where they inevitably snatched at the shot or turned it over in play.

Bogball > Spud Hockey.

We’re done here chap. Enjoy your day. In fairness you definitely seem to be the best arbiter of things that didnt happen but would’ve/could’ve /should’ve.

Anyone know when Martin Breheny will release his Power Rankings, keen to see if Wexford have moved up a few spots on the football

Woolie can ‘relate’ to O’Shea, neither of them have AI medals

Mayo had five clear goal chances, three of them in the second half and their missed shots were from the positions you’re supposed to shoot from.

That is not a dominant defensive performance on Tyrone’s part or even close to it. That is being seriously under the cosh defensively.

Meyler was my MOTM. Conn 2nd.

I think that’s the one that really counts

I would have seen this guy a fair bit in Belfield with a bag of football’s kicking for hours upon hours. An example to anyone that skills pay the bills.
