2022 FIFA World Cup (Part 1)

A sheikhs whim

Assuming offside was not reason and communicated as such in error

High foot for overhead kick a more likely reason?

Liam Brady’s final comment in studio beforehand was “I’ll be interested in the refereeing in this match”.

Upon review a mile off in fairness

Coach Sanchez looking quite concerned here, with good reason

All the lads crowing about fixes looking fair stupid now

Had Qatar scored first, the confidence would have flowed and I didn’t think they’d be headed. But there’s a huge gulf so far and they look a rabble. Need to give themselves a good sheikh at half time.

Oil take your word for it

The confidence has deserted them. They’re in a gas state, they’re a rabble.

This game was overshadowed by the NAP v Ballygunnar game.

Enner Valencia is a great World Cup striker. Hadn’t heard of him since his stint at West Ham, which was a direct consequence of his excellent form at the 2014 World Cup.

They’re like a bunch of Arab C. Nesbitts.

Did Richie Sadlier really pick Qatar as his dark horse/outsider???

He must have forgotten how bad they were when Callum Robinson scored a hat-trick against them in Dublin.

Felix Sanchez bears the look of Bob Woolmer after Ireland beat Pakistan at the 2007 Cricket World Cup.

He thought they’d be well drilled.

Ronnie has just used the phrase “well drilled”. Hi Ronnie.

I think I’m going to go to the shop now and prioritise Malta-Ireland over this. Just in case you’re wondering @Horsebox, we’re low on milk and bananas and dangerously low on nappies. I don’t want to head out too late.
