2022 FIFA World Cup (Part 1)

RTE had the curse of Jimmy Magee for Ireland games at the World Cup. England have the curse of ITV.

Romania v England and Argentina v England 1998 were ITV exclusive games.

Germany v England 2010 was BBC. I know because I watched the latter part of the first half in Smythā€™s pub at Cross Guns Bridge and remember them cutting to the studio with Table Mountain in the background with Lineker, Hansen and Shearer.

I think Croatia v England 2018 was ITV exclusive because there was all the furore over Roy Keane.

England v Brazil 2002 I think was BBC.

England v Paraguay 2006 was definitely BBC. England v Ecuador 2006 must have been BBC because that was the one where Dunphy said ā€œthatā€™s the first time Iā€™ve ever seen live sex between two men on the BBCā€ after Garth Crooks interviewed Sven Goran Eriksson.

I had a slight inkling of an upset tonight but that stat has given me a lof more confidence. Senegal on pelanties.

England will bate them with their caps ffs.

England will win pulling up

ITV. 19%ā€¦ Hello?

Senegal are missing Mane and Gueye. Two serious absentees. Iā€™d have given them a punchers chance with a fit Mane.

I think Senegal will open them up a good bit but wonā€™t score more than England

England will rape Senegal ffs, they havenā€™t even left 2nd gear yet.

They usually donā€™t blow a gasket alright until they go into higher gears

England have ā€˜Arry Maguire too donā€™t forget. Heā€™s having a solid tournament.
Heā€™ll be the front page headline before itā€™s over.

Southgate is being underestimated by Paddy Footix, they hammered the goat herders of Iran, saw out a handy draw against a useless America and finished the job with the minimum of effort against the sheep shaggers. He is actually a tactical genius. He knew that group was a walk in the park and played accordingly.

Heā€™s patently a good tournament manager. His results bear this out.

John Bull has a lot more egg on his face getting caught up in the hype time aftet time down the years.

Enjoy the game

Southgate is also a good qualifying manager now that I think of it.

Heā€™s a very good man too.

Chatting to a Polish lad yesterday. All he wants is that they have a go rather than the lame effort v Argentina.

Poland having a go in the fifth minute.

Thereā€™ll be no more of that nonsense now

Poland are not box office.
