Morocco are a plucky outfit with some good players lads. Bono in goals, En Nesyri up front, Abde on the wing - they’re all quality La Liga players.

We all know what Ziyech and Hakimi can do. Mazroaui was a big loss for them too today, and he’ll hopefully be back the next day. Amrabat has been brilliant in the WC and by all accounts has been excellent for Fiorentina. Boufal is a maverick of a winger too, he has outstanding natural ability.

Most of all of course, this team clearly has stones.

Portugal are a seriously unlikeable bunch of wankers though - Ronaldo, Pepe, Bruno - how could you ever shout for those cunts? Bernardo Silva too is a ratty little fucker albeit an unbelievable player.

They played quite well at the 2018 World Cup too but had no luck. Dominated against Iran but were caught with a late sucker punch. Drew 2-2 with the Spanish as well irc.

Cheerio Ronnie

That was the worst attempt at chasing a goal against an underdog ive ever seen. It’s the problem with any team where Ronaldo plays now. Everyone just wants to lump it in to his head because he scored against Ireland and spurs about 18 months ago and people think he still has it in the air. The one chance they created for him was a ball down the side and a great run in behind.

Same teams for both England and France?

4-3-3 vs 4-2-3-1.

Fair play to southgate. I thought he’d bottle it and go 5 at the back. They’ll outscore France now i think

To win a World Cup you’ve to let your balls hang lose at some point

I did say earlier that France would struggle against a really good, well-organised team. England are certainly organised.

I do think England will struggle if they go behind and they have been caught in recent tournaments by going ahead and then sitting too deep. That didn’t happen against Senegal but then, Senegal don’t carry the same attacking threat France do.

France have been carrying a few players defensively and will be outnumbered in midfield, although Tchouameni is the real deal imo. Rabiot has had a good tournament so far, and Griezmann will be the most creative player on the pitch.

Will pure work rate & organisation shut out the French players with more flair? It definitely could; if they can frustrate the French, England definitely have an unbelievable counter-attack. If England score first and still have some sort of out ball, I think they win.

As always, that first goal is so important, who are better set up to get it? As lazy as he can be, Mbappe could have real joy running at the English back 4, the same with Dembele on the other side. I think France might just have enough.
