An untrained eye wouldnāt spot him but Iāve been highly impressed. Be great if this was the calibre of player coming in.

Darwin Nunez paying dividends not just in goals.
I think Modric and Co could run rings around that Argentine Midfield. Casemiro and Paqueta hardly got a kick. The latter was badly exposed a few times. Brazil couldnāt get anything going here really and Iām not sure De Paul would be at Casemiros level. Argentina dont have have wide players like Vinicius Junior, Rafinha and enough of a supporting cast to compensate for an average midfield either. Enzo Martinez was brilliant the other night and really got Argentina on the front foot so he will have to produce a similar display if Argentina are to progress but it is expecting a lot. Again it will all boil down to Messi to see if he can carry them on his shoulders and produce moments of magic which he has done consistently all tournament to be fair. It really promises to be one of the most fascinating and novel knock out match ups in recent memory. Hard to understand how Croatia are 4-1 to win in what I thought would be a 50 50 match up.

They are much more solid and balanced than Argentina, theyre crazy odds.
Croatia seem to be criminally underrated. In 2018 they hammered Argentina 3-0 and were huge underdogs for that too. I think a lot of it is their lack of an out and out striker. Even someone of the quality of Mandzucic who could score a few goals.
I couldnt believe when I saw that they were rank outsiders for this game. I dont think they have any injury worries or suspensions either. Argentina have 2 suspensions and few injury worries.
