2023 All Ireland Hurling Championship

If Kilkenny bring that same intensity and work rate (and you can be guaranteed they will) they’ll be bang there.

Peter Duggan’s best game by a mile since he came back from Australia.

SOD was very good, Rodgers was excellent, McInerney was unbelievable in the second half. Malone got through an amount of work.

I thought Blanchfield was really good for Kilkenny, Paddy Deegan the same. Adrian Mullen had some real moments of class. TJ & Cody brilliant obviously. I thought Tom Phelan was very good for one of the more inexperienced heads.

Have to question Clare playing a sweeper in the first half. That was the losing of the game.

There’s no hurling match won or lost in the first half these days

A thoroughly alright sort.

They lost the first half by 5 points. They’ll have to look back at that decision.

It would almost be fair to say the two teams a reflection of their managers.

One calm cool and collected. The other fueled by passion and madness

It is the best save I have seen.

Kilkenny’s subs made a massive impact.

Buckley got on an amount of ball, Cian Kenny was very lively. Richie & Wally won vital ball and a couple of big frees and Walsh got that crucial score at the end.

Now Galvin was lively for Clare too, maybe Shanagher could have been brought on earlier.

Diarmuid Ryan didn’t have a good game. Some of his distribution was headless but that was also down to lack of options in front of him. But Clare had got into a position where that tidal wave of emotion they were playing on could have carried them over the top. The problem with tidal waves of emotion is they can go out quickly and that mistake for the KK goal sucked the wind out of Clare. Even with the O’Donnell goal, KK were able to respond immediately and work the ball to the free man when it counted on the run in. Clare couldn’t. For all that it still took a miracle save to stop them getting level.

Another big game no show from TK.

Hiding in the half back line for the second half when Clare needed him.

A great player no doubt. But that would be one of the marks against him.

Shane O’Donnell on the other hand. Left it all out there. Savage unlucky to be on the losing side

David Reidy was brought on and taken off. Ryan Taylor was a big loss for Clare in fairness.

We cannot handle O’Donnell. He always hurts us.
