2023 All Ireland Senior Football Championship

Should be a good crowd in by half time after everybody has finished up drinking in the pubs after the FA Cup final. Or perhaps not.

Dublin wide open at the back

Halftime
Kildare 0-8
Dublin 0-13

HT Westmeath 0-7 Galway 0-6
Significant breeze was blowing Westmeaths way in that half. Baysht not playing. Sean Purcells grandson showing well for the lesser maroons

Decent game both teams going for it. Glen would want to stop worrying about the music being played and concentrate on getting someone to mark Con. He has the run of the place

This bunch & break shite for the kickout we’re at since the sligo game has to stop. Its like somrthing you’d have seen in a junior game thirty years ago.

Hope you have the sun cream on.

Enjoy pal.

The baysht looked grand in the warm up. Westmeath much the better side first half. The breeze isnt overly strong either.

You’d probably be better off getting a cool one on an evening like this evening.

Basquel having his long-awaited breakout game

Is there a reason putting 15 behind the ball works in football but not in soccer? Corner kicks?

Much harder to win the ball back in Gaelic football.

They’re completely different games tbf, there’s loads of reasons. Gaelic football is much higher-scoring, much heavier ball, much more space to attack when you do win it back.

And of course it can work in soccer if you do it right (and arguably it doesn’t really work in Gaelic football unless you do it right too).

Seems much more prevalent these days in football, and it is a blight on the game as a spectacle.

To their credit Kerry still pushed on to a certain degree towards end of the Cork game. Had they decided to sit back and play it back and forth I doubt Cork would have won the ball back. We see with Derry and Roscommon last week that some are adopting this completely risk averse approach. Very hard to watch.

Kildare 0-12
Dublin 0-19
Five left

Fuck off lad, Kerry had 15 men behind the ball the vast majority of the game.

Dessie has Dublin purring.

Defensively they did but they still showed some ambition when in possession

Harsh on Roscommon last week as well.
