Awful conditions - Offaly forwards moving well - they lead 4-2
Laois Carlow game not going ahead now at all, I’m calling this as a TFK exclusive. No way was that game ever going ahead with them due to play in the league in a few weeks. Lee Walker would need private security.
Offaly have pulled out of the O’Byrne cup now due to Sigerson, injuries and sickness.
The GAA Calendar needs to be ripped up and started again.
Fair play to Kearnsie.
The O’Byrne Cup needs to be knock out.
The GAA needs to go like Soccer and have an exceedingly attractive Community Shield type Double Header between the League & All Ireland Champions across both codes on the last Sunday in January before the National League commences.
Scrap the O’Byrne Cup/Munster League/FBD League* etc. and let Colleges/Box Office Industries Challenge Match Circuit take priority for the month of January.
*An exception to be made for the Most Reverend Doctor McKenna Cup.
Its not often I’d say it, but you’ve come up with a good idea there.
I must send Feargal an email on it.

You could have the Community Shields on the Saturday and the Club Finals on the Sunday.
A GAA version of the Dublin Racing Festival.
U17 InterPros as warm up to both.
Be right handy for the AFL scouts
Kerry A v Kerry B or North Kerry v South Kerry??
Anybody remember the Guinness Soccer Sixes at the Manchester G-Mex Arena?
I’d like to see the development of indoor five a side games for Gaelic football and hurling and nationwide series of events through the winter a la Premier League Darts.
In both games there would be goals only and goals could only scored from inside a designated zone. In the hurling game hand contact with the ball would be banned and in the Gaelic football game handpassing would be banned.
The top 8 counties in each sport would compete - Premier League Hurling would be on Thursday nights and Premier League Gah on Fridays.
A sample calendar for 2022/23:
November 24 - Hurling - National Basketball Arena - Tallaght
November 25 - Football - 3 Arena, Dublin
December 1 - Hurling - Black Box Theatre, Galway
December 2 - Football - Odyssey Arena, Belfast
December 8 - Hurling - Neptune Stadium, Cork
December 9 - Football - Gleneagle INEC Arena, Killarney
December 15 - Hurling - Nenagh Indoor Athletics Track, Nenagh
December 16 - Football - Connacht GAA Air Dome, Somewhere
January 5 - Hurling - UL Sports Hall, Limerick
January 6 - Football - Parish Hall, Ballygawley
January 12 - Hurling - WIT Sports Hall, Waterford
January 13 - Football - That tent in Donegal where Mike Scott of the Waterboys nearly got electrocuted
January 19 - Hurling - Castlecomer Primary School Hall, Castlecomer
January 20 - Football - A cowshed in Offaly
I would love to see this idea in reality just to see what a disaster it would be.
There’s indoor Gaelic Football called Pella. I’ve played it a few times. It’s very enjoyable. The goals are big circular nets.
“Cman! Cman!” Set a precedent for 5 a-side hurling competitions on RTE 2 childrens TV in the late 00’s. Niall or Ollie Moran was one of the coaches iirc.
Is this the first year the colleges haven’t taken part in the Mickey Mouse warm up tournaments?
No
During Covid? Or since then?
They were definitely out last year, perhaps before but covid dims the brain. Could be gone a few years now tbh
The O Byrne cup should be knockout, then the teams that lose can organise challenges if they wish.
Simple as that.
