Pep got rid of Zinchenko and Cancelo, two lads that couldn’t defend 1v1, brilliant players but not suited to cup football. That and Haaland is the big change from last season. Walker was immense.

John Stones playing a hybrid centre mid and dropping in centre half is thr biggest tactical change. It becomes 3 at the back with the ball and 5 without. I’ve never seen a reverse sweeper before.

Sorry yeah, that was massive. What a player stones is. Akanji and Ake starting all the time been huge at the back too. Footballing defenders with a turn of pace.
Zinchenko is an unbelievable footballer,but has been caught out a bit at leftback for Arsenal a few times lately in high stakes games.
No academy players or Mancunians started for Abu Dhabi last night. A disconnected franchise.
