2023 Club Championships

That’s a brutal way to lose a game. That spilled kickout will haunt that Glenties man for the rest of his life.

Good analysis between county teammates Rogers and Glass. Derry football is in a great place right now.

I always like to see a referee take control in that situation and blow the game up for ET or a replay.

In this years Tipperary county final, Michael kennedy blew the full time whistle with 45 seconds left in additional time.

A last puck/kick winner is always way more satisfactory than ET which often ends up being an anti climax.

Glenties equalised on 62.15 and there was always going to be one more play.

Great finish there. Ulster football is box office.

A fine enjoyable game of football

No free there but it’s a yellow card lol.

McCarron and Beggan were colossal there in the finish

And Ciaran Hughes left foot. Considering how physical a game it was there wasn’t any nonsense in it of lads mouthing or squaring up to each other, would be lovely to think Ulster football might finally be moving in the right direction.

Two good sides in the Leinster junior hurling here.
Very good standard on a winter ploughed field.

McCarron was unreal at the end

I suppose being knocked out in a semifinal represents huge progress for tyrone

Hell of a game in Thurles.

The scoreline doesn’t really do it justice as it was a one point game on 61 minutes. However not only could Clonmel not get their hands on the ball again but Dingle struck two late points from Tom O’Sullivan and Paul Geaney which were like daggers to Clonmel hearts.

Clonmel will feel they lost it in the first half. They had a huge goal chance when Colman Kennedy was in and all he had to do was slip it to Sean O’Connor for a certain goal. Kennedy shot himself and was blocked. Ross Peters did manage to swing over a point from the same move, but, but, but… goals win games. Dingle were also lucky to avoid a black card when Sean O’Connor was dragged back/down when running through. Anyway they only lead by a point at Half Time.

Dingle were better in the second half. The Geaneys took over. Kevin Fahey went off injured early in the second half and was a big, big loss. The longer the half went on the more Clonmel ran out of ideas. Quinlivan (in what is expected to be his last game for Commercials) did swing over a Hollywood point from under the New Stand after a long period of possession and Jack Kennedy scored a big one from distance but they weren’t able to get the ‘incisions’, ‘back door cuts’ or ‘line breaks’ to penetrate into the ‘scoring zone’.

They left it all out there and couldnt have given any more, but it’ll still be a very disappointing loss. I don’t know where they go from here.

Dingle are absolutely box office. Outside the ground there were dozens of their supporters in big trouble beforehand as they couldn’t understand why cash wasn’t being taken on the stiles. Bank Cards and iPhones are still in their infancy on the West Kerry peninsula. I was going to offer to pay for some of them, but said “fuck it”, they milk me for enough when I’m down there. They ended up ringing people inside to pass Bank Cards out through the stiles to get in.

They made plenty noise when in there. Every time Dingle got possession they wanted them to “kick it in” or “take him on”. The Dingle players tended to do just that which lead to a fine open game of freeflowing Football.

They’ll have it all to do to beat Castlehaven and i couldnt see them beating Corofin (they are naive enough) but an All Ireland Club Final between them and Glen Maghera would be sensational. 10 years on from Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuine beating St. Pat’s Maghera in the Hogan Cup Final…

Tullogher v Craanford? Played in Patrick’s Park in Enniscorthy. Bellfield might have been the better option in that town.

Clonmel have left two munsters behind them, golden generation with no superpowers in cork or Kerry! If MQ leaves they will continue to win counties but will not replicate 2015

Agreed. The 2015 win possibly sated the appetite for a few years and it only became an obsession again in the last couple of seasons.

Jason Lonergan and Conal Kennedy were losses today.

Tax man would have a field day if Tipperary GAA were audited I’d say if it was cash only. I’d say they’ve been caught out before.

Its a few years since Tipp GAA took cash. Today was a Munster Council game in any case.

I just thought it was funny because I’m sure the West Kerry Board still take cash.

No, twas leixlip against someone. Two really good sides. Excellent game.

Huge work has been done to promote and drive hurling in Kildare over last decade.
