2024/2025 Premier League - The Drive for 5 (city losses in a row?)

Did you not find it very funny when the lads used to post “that’s top six secured by Slot on a shoestring budget” when they were around 8 points clear in March? I used to be chuckling away at the posts. Very amusing stuff.

@Arthur is most disappointed by the trajectory of Evan Ferguson’s career. He thought he was a nailed on superstar.

I watched the United game on Saturday. Very tough viewing. The manager is lucky Ratcliffe has a thing for him.

An institution. It’s important to note the reaction of actual scousers like Paddy the Baddie here too. He’s seething with Trent. Jamie Carragher has to put on a balanced look for the TV’s but you can tell he’s perplexed by the decision. I’d say being around Liverpool has been very intense for Trent since the news broke in March.

I haven’t watched the epl in 2 months. It’s beyond boring.

Pep has destroyed football and every ape trying to copy him. It’s all sideways and backwards. Jordan Henderson way ahead of his time and would have wrapped up every player award if he was still in the league.

VAR hasn’t helped either. It’s shocking. Looking at a lad brushing someone’s toe in slow motion and awarding a peno. Or the offside by 2 millimetres and it takes them 8 minutes to decide it.

I’m undecided on Slot. Won a very handy league but you can only bate what’s in front of you., but they were beyond boring after Christmas and very hard to watch… pre Christmas they were very reminiscent of Klopp - hunted in packs all over the field. I’m hoping the drop off was him not having the players and legs going rather than him getting his true style across after Christmas. Because that shit is woeful.

You’ve let the hurling talk seep into football talk…go back ta fuck!!!

Anyone see the Mateta disallowed goal yesterday? This is the perfect test case to show why Var and offside rule need to go.

I’m not sure about that. The reduction in intensity was very obvious in the first-half of the season. The only times I can think of where they went full Klopp was the second-half v Brighton, the first 20 mins v City and the second-half at Ipswich. Maybe the counter-attack goals v Villa as well. That aside they were playing a very measured style. I’d say since Christmas they’ve actually been more porous at the back and haven’t exerted as much control over games. It’s hard to keep doing that when there’s an unassailable lead too I suppose.

There was certainly a much more group approach to recovering the ball. That eased off significantly. Teams twigged how to press gravel head early also and took him out of games. He was a big part of the pre Christmas form. He won’t do in that role moving forward.

I’m hoping a few signings will bring a bit more chaos to proceedings… that post Christmas fare was dirge and Slot can fuck right off if that’s his stall now laid out.

The 40 points mark schtick was very funny as well. Not quite belly laughs but extremely funny. Particularly when 5 or 6 of them repeated it over and over. You’d think it was stale but quite the opposite.

You can see Liverpool winning the league in glorious style is hurting some lads very badly.

'Tis all coming out now.

United lowering the blade in a serious way away to Chelsea

Never. Not. Funny.

They should null and void that Joe McDonagh final on Wednesday. Give the Champions League spot to Al Nassr

Great stat

They might bring in a top 8 rule after this tbh

It is ridiculous what’s going on. Ratcliffe voted for Brexit.

You’d a fella here who said Big Jim was going to assemble the Ocean’s 11 of sports science and finance nerds to sort it all out

Give it Stuart Ripley til end o season

They’d be 15 odd points better off with a back 4. That is the worrying thing. I called for the back 3, but it doesn’t work and you can’t press with it. They’re trying to copy Inter Milan, but it doesn’t work.
