Allowing Doherty and Idah to come on tonight after the weeknd is a bad omen for Heimir, letting O’Shea speak to the media for him is another major red flag, you’re paid to deal with the press it’s as simple as that. I was optimistic about his appointment and even stripping away all relevance to us being shite his first national window has been very poor and he seems to be picking up with us where he left off with Jamaica.

Robinson looked lively, agree Idah shouldn’t have seen action after losing every challenge on Saturday. Doherty given his pedigree must rank up there as the worst Irish player in a long while or at least the most disappointing. Alan Browne just shouldn’t be near it but is very game, complete opposite of Doc.

Fellas here were calling for O’ Shea to get the job on a permanent basis but I couldn’t really understand why. A solid sort with a surprisingly wild streak on a night out in a very similar mould to Steve Staunton who also won multiple league titles in England and played GAA. Definitely a level above your Keeh Fahey/Keeh Treacy/Pat Fenlon types cc @Cheasty, but he never struck me as the most intellectual type. Although the fact that his brother is a PE teacher (I think) suggests that a direct family member must’ve accumulated near 500 LC points. I think there was an element of Man United fan boys to the clamour for his permanent basis, although MCFC academy graduate Glenn Whelan was very sour that O’ Shea wasn’t appointed as permanent manager. Hopefully Heimir assumes complete control now.

Steve Heighway was University educated and had a big role to play in the development of a flood of talent in the Liverpool academy in the 90’s. Seamus Coleman has potential in that regard in the coming years I’d imagine.

Heighway was English though. Mick McCarthy also brought up in England.

Kevin Moran was a smart fella but never got involved in coaching.
