2024 PDC World Darts Championship & Q School

Totally agree. The lad has been a joy to watch and has brought Darts to a whole new level.

He was 14-8 up on Hendry one year. Following year he missed a black on its spot in decider.
He wouldn’t have beaten Thorburn in 82 imo

The German guy should have beaten Humphries earlier in tournament. Luke rattled off last 3 sets in that one too.

It was a very over the hill Ray Reardon awaiting in the 1982 final.

Jimmy hammered Thorburn in the first round in 1982.

It was billed almost as the Littler final, Humphries as the antihero and villian of the piece, raucous booing when he walked on. Even though he won Littler will get the headlines and probably better endorsements/sponsorship opportunities. I was rooting for Humphries as he might not be back there again. Littler will have a lifetime of opportunities.

I’d say Humphries will win plenty of them. He’s an exceptional player.

He’s won four of the last five majors. He’ll win at least one more of these though I suspect it will be 3 or 4.

Its never as clear cut as that though.
You’d have to think Price may have 1 or 2 in him. Likewise with Smith. Van Gerwen if he can get over whatever mental barriers he stumbles over could win 5 or 6 more. I know Humphries won 4 of last 5 majors but it could be a case of catching lightning in a bottle, to use that analogy. Momentum is everything in sport.

The cynicism on tfk is unreal.

Van gerwen has surely been a disappointment to be honest. 3 world titles after making the final in 2013.

It was only when all the messages of good luck and support from current united players came flooding through, that was the turning point for Littler. If only they’d have left him alone.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Smith never won one again or never even makes the final again. Darts is gone very competitive and there’s a new generation sweeping through now. Smith reminds me of an Adrian Lewis type he won’t remain at the top table for too long. Speaking of Lewis is he still playing?

Hard to know with Van Gerwen but he’s certainly young enough and talented enough to win plenty more.

I thought Price had another one in him too but looking at these two tonight it’s hard to see him beating them too often going forward. But I see him as way more likely as Smith to win another.

Humphries looks like he has the temperament to win a good few. Wouldn’t be surprised when all is said and done he ends up the more successful Luke. Littler has outrageous ability but when he comes home now and processes the last two weeks he could go the wrong way. I hope he doesn’t but the press have him in their crosshairs and not in a nice way. He needs a few older players now to put a hand around him and mentor him.

Also great shout tonight @fenwaypark in predicting the exact score line.

Agreed on Smith. 2 weeks of exhibitions with pissed up punters throughout Ireland was no preparation for World’s.

There’s a 10 year old in the BDO averaging 115 who’ll make Luke Littler look like Brendan Dolan.

Talk about adding insult to misery.

Litler has achieved so much and still has no vote
Working class folk have to grow up quicker than the rest

Wouldn’t be surprised if Littler goes off the boil next year

Want to pass on my congratulations to Cool Hand Luke. Our World Champion and he didn’t have it easy.

Q School starts next week.

Premier League lineup to be announced today at 4pm.

The theory is that the silhouettes on the image is the lineup.

#7 could be Noppert or Heta

I would have Dobey ahead of Peter Wright.
