All the big time money was on Humphries. Delighted for him. Deserved it. Took out 116 twice in a row. That 170. Umpteen 180s.
Having said all that Cullen will be sickened. He would have accounted for Williams and Littler too.

I’d say that’s the highest quality final of the PDC there has been.
Humphries went up a good few gears after that Cullen quarter final. I don’t think Cullen has those extra gears.

The 07 final will never be beaten between Barney and Taylor for drama, tension and quality. Both players averaged > 100 in that match but it was more sustained and went the distance. Averages might have been a tick higher in this final but it had a sense of inevitability once it went to 4 - 4. I dont think averages tell the whole story either.

Taylor v Anderson/Whitlock were some of the other great games.
Taylor was the man to be fair to him.
I loved hearing Humphries elaborate on his match dart at double 8 in terms of what was going through his head, his hand shaking and somehow it falling in. I remember Price having a severe dose of white line fever when he fell over the line. Amazing how some players can still pull it off in the clutch and others dont get as lucky.
That final will never ever be surpassed, Barney calling for Taylors dart on 25 to be kept in the board for the sudden death leg bull off, unreal.

I don’t get all the hate for littler at all in the two matches I watched. Apart from having the physique of a middle aged nun he seems an incredibly impressive young fella. He seemed to me to have conducted himself incredibly well for a lad of his age with absolutely no media training and no preparation for the level of scrutiny he got.

I think it is more the likes of Sky, media blowing him up and all the hyperbole. In fairness they are cunts and only do it to sell their product. But tonight alone there was talk of winning 4 world titles in his teens 
and winning 10 of them by age of 30. Crazy talk. Likes of Smith and Gerwen will be around for a while yet too. No matter how sound you are many spectators like to see those people with egg on their faces.

But when they’re 16 all that goes out the window surely. It was a massive story. A fat gomey looking 16 year old playing at the highest level in a high pressure individual sport. I thought he was going to be some cocky showboating shaper reading here before I watched him. I’d say the cunt has never got a shift and was on the 3rd class maths book in 6th class. You’d have to love him
