Kildare didn’t deserve a goal from that. A wayward kick that the keeper didn’t deal with and that ginger corner-back who’s spending his whole match up the field ended up on the end of it.
A very functional massive bulked up team. No bit of spark or style. They had Daniel Flynn but couldn’t figure out how to use him. Just let the man play ffs.
Where is Flynn, gone from the panel entirely?

Game has hit a flat spot now, Kildare marginally on top but not making much hay

The standard of one-on-one defending has improved at a mighty pace throughout the league. Great seeing the Monaghan corner back pick up man of the match last night, Offaly seem to have a couple of specialists here as well.

Kildare have almost certainly created more chances and maybe should be winning but Offaly are definitely the more exciting team to watch.

Great to see those lads finally making a mark at senior level. They were rabble as recently as 2024. Mickey Harte has given them the bit of organisation that they needed. London hammered them in the Tailteann last summer.

Mickey Harte is an outstanding appointment by Offaly. He’ll at least restore them to their natural place as the second best county in Leinster and you wouldn’t rule them out of breaking the Dublin stranglehold over the province as they did in 1980.

They don’t seem to have any idea of how working a two-point effort either when they’ve been five or six down for the last while
Offaly are cutting lanes through Kildare but they’ve missed a few good chances in the last few minutes. I hope they don’t regret those.
Once teams start to trust defenders to defend we’ll be flying it again. More Joe Higgins and Mark O Reilly’s please.
