What age are you? Have you even seen most of them play?

Quaid.
Reale.
Richie.
Hickey.
Rasher.
Ciaran.
Davey Clarke.
Hoola
Clem Smith
Hannon
Banger
Kirby
Shocks
Dowling
Squiddy

My Grandfather and an auld boy from Castlecomer whos opinions on hurling I rate very highly both reckon that Mick Roche was as good as any hurler they had ever seen. Long before my time, did anyone on here ever see him play? @Fagan ODowd?

Who would you push out for him though? Hardly John Keane?

Probably as you couldn’t drop Clem Smith

My father would be of that generation and speaks of Roche as one of the best he ever saw.

I watched a video of the 1968 final, which Wexford won, but Roche was imperious that day. Seemed years ahead of his time in the way he played but that’s my only experience of seeing him hurl.

That Castlecomer mention got me thinking about that song “The Greatest Game Of All” by John Duggan from the album “The mighty Game”.

Is it possible to upload MP3s on here?
