One thing the airtricity league and football in Ireland in general needs is for the league of Ireland clubs to really establish strong underage set ups from u8/10 up (especially in the big provincial soccer towns like sligo, waterford, limerick etc) or else give up the current half hearted attempts at it and link each club strongly with a particular one of the schoolboy powerhouses especially in dublin - the Kevin’s, joey’s, belvo, home farm.
There needs to be a possible progression from 8 year old to senior pro player with the same club and coaching set up the whole way up like pro clubs in other countries have.
