A lifetime in shoes

These were the first cool shoes I ever bought for myself. Oxblood loafers by Blackthorn. I bought them with my confirmation money. They were great for kicking people in the head.

When I grow older and have to attend funerals regularly I want to throw on a dark grey Crombie coat over a navy pin strip suit and have a pair of these guys dangling underneath.

Ah here Fagan, no offense pal but these were the only brog for kicking both heads & shins back in the day

Your day & Fagans day were many moons apart

My personal favorites, the 8 hole Doc’s

These were mandatory when attending youth discos… The 15 minutes where the DJ would let rip with Enter Sandman, Smells Like Teen Spirit, Creep etc…

What a shoe!

I was never without a pair for about a decade of my life and I still have a pair in the attic, just in case…

Ah yes KP, you could catch an electric fence with those bad boys on and not feel a tickle off it

Don’t forget this beauty when thinking of the ( 50-50 ) discos though

Yes Harry, the women exited the floor at high speed at the sound of James Hetfields guitar… great times.

I went through a phase of the doc martins also but then I stopped . The death of Kurt Cobain has a profound impact on my dress sense. I rarely wore black t shirts and chokers after that.

Anyway, back to the OP…

Boots that the cunts wore back in the day.

Or these cunts :guns: :guns:

Fella’s with jeans purposely slit at the ends to hang over these shameful looking yokes

I only bought a pair earlier this year. Nice and warm. Sturdy, and a good fit!

Classic!! Combine these with Farah slacks, a jumper you’d buy in Shaws with the ducks or putting green embroidered into the chest, or some triangles down the left side of the front. Hang a bunch of keys off the side of the pants, and a box of 20 major, and you were ready for the bar in the Westward Ho. Maybe having some paint spatters on one of the shoes topped it off. Classic look though in Limerick drinking holes, and all around the country I suspect…

The same langers who were wearing these “back in the day” are still wearing them. Combine them with a ROG haircut, the most boring f*cking head I’ve ever seen, and they had to be worn with a fleece jacket, or a red musto sailing jacket.

A good fit were they?

This thread is fucked up.

What age were ya when you got your first pair of shoes CM? Did they look like these?

They are a good fit aye. Go well with my skinny jeans too…

Desert boots were of no use to country people because the muck and the shit would have them ruined after one wear. Urbanites however could get a good year out of a pair if they carefully avoided puddles.
