The earliest Irish settlers were from the Middle East about 5000 years ago. They were one of the earliest civilizations to develop agriculture. Our language and culture is largely derived from them.
We have far more right to call ourselves a country based on history than most. Certainly more than the Palestinians who have no history whatsoever in the areas they live in. There was never a country called Palestine, the region which included modern day Jordan and Israel was briefly called that by the British between 1917 and 1947.

Of course it does. Israel is surrounded by apartheid and racist states that are far more extreme than Israel. How many Jews live in Arab states in the Middle East? Literally none, why do you think that is? given that historically there were Jewish populations in all those states?
Israelâs treatment of Palestinians is wrong, but has to be seen in the context of their situation. I believe Israel has the right to exist and the right to defend itself, you clearly donât. We are not likely to find common ground.
