A United Ireland

It’s a absolute shambles. There has been people fired from dublin council for taking money for houses how it has not been in the papers is beyond me. The same people who want to be beside mammy fail to remember one thing their parents will not be around forever. We done everything put our names down for voluntary housing and ended up with a company better than the council the cooperative

Good point

I would be more interested in those who have noted ‘no’ and why?

It’s no surprise really to see the calibre of poster that voted no… Lot of self-hating Irish in there.

Post of the year. This is the key to Sein feins policies. They are targeting the lay about types who want everything for free and when they don’t get it they’ll have a good moan. Fellas nowadays wouldn’t work to warm themselves. Michael o leary said it a few years back the kids in Ireland nowadays don’t want to work nowadays as a street cleaner, labourer or whatever and that is a huge issue going forward. People think Sinn Feins policy of targeting the successful types will lead to a more balanced society but in reality it’ll create a huge divide. Ireland is no longer going to be a country to do business in.

Without a clever reply of -‘you’ - who are the lay-about types ?

Sinn feins Core support. Nothing should ever be for free as you’ll never appreciate it. They are going to reward people for sitting on their holes and punish fellas who get up and get the economy moving.

How many people are sitting on their holes? We’re at full employment … long term unemployed is at roughly 1% — you think 30-40k people are gonna keep SF in power or that SF are running to serve 30-40k people?

Do you not have school today?

What’s this now?

I don’t have a DB scheme anymore, pal.

In fairness, it used to be a grand little country to do business in.

I threw out that example in relation to your seemingly greater focus on material, capitalist issues than the reunification of our country.

I disagree with that. Peace is the only important thing, pal. Reunification is not worth it if it causes the loss of even one more life. Hence I abstained from the above.

While I share you sentiment, I think that reunification will lead to a longer, more lasting peace.

You don’t live here anymore, not your problem so don’t worry about it!

I agree bro.

But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try to make peace in advance of reunification.

One thing is definitely for sure - there will be major changes to the 26 counties in relation to reunification. I think there will be a sizeable portion of people in the 26 who will deem the changes not be worth it and vote against it.

It will be a very tricky assignment.
