Aberdeen v Celtic, ESPN/The Internet - 7.45pm

Great goal by Hooper, lovely flick through by Stokes.

Ah that’s outstanding by Hooper. Keep him fit and we’ll be just fine.

Great play by Commons and Stokes too by the way.

Ah that’s a magnificent goal. Really well taken and a gorgeous pass from Stokes.

Was noticing Hooper playing quite deep so far. Looking for the ball from the centre halves a bit and Stokes is definitely more advanced.

Not sure if Brown has just taken a knock or if it’s a recurrence of his old ankle injury but thought that was his right ankle before.

Great atmosphere tonight lads.

The link ups between the front two since Hooper returned from injury at Hibs 3 weeks ago have been sheer quality. Loads of goals made by one for the other.

Brown was off getting the ankle strapped up. Still not moving freely though.

Superb atmosphere all right.

Brown is making some super early runs tonight. He’s been a real threat.

Mulgrew started this game very well and had one excellent intervention there from a Hartley free kick but a couple of casual moments there that he needs to stamp out.

Plenty of challenges flying in from Aberdeen all around the park. You’d expect a couple of cards normally but we don’t really want Mr Muir getting too fond of reaching for his pocket or he might try and even things up later.

Motherfucker that was unlucky from Kayal. Super hit.

Wilson had been doing ok but Christ that was awful the way Blackman put him on the floor and got a shot off there.

Too many long balls the past 5 minutes. We have the extra man, we’ve been dominating. Keep the ball and the gaps will come, particularly with the movement of the front two and the runners from midfield.

Really sloppy spell from Celtic since Kayal hit the post.

Agreed on the long balls, Rocko. Again, it’s a situation where you want Ledley demanding the ball. He was doing that for the first half hour and I posted about the nice play up the left hand side with Izzy and Commons that he was involved in. But he’s been posted missing in the latter part of the half. Kayal’s still trying to get on it but there was a spell where Wilson and Mulgrew were hitting early long balls and it wasn’t necessary. There’s that temptation to go direct given the front two link up so well but they do their damage mainly from pieces of sharp play on the ground, like for the goal.

We just need to avoid slack touches and passing and concentration lapses as that will give them a foothold in the game and allow them to build up play and pressure in our half. They’ve had a couple of dangerous set pieces and that’ll be the second half threat too so we need to press them hard up the pitch (which Hooper has been doing excellently) and force them into mistakes to prevent them from moving into our half and drawing freekicks and corners.

Logic suggests that ten men will tire with all the running they’ll have to do, and they’ve already made two injury enforced changes, but Lenny should be driving home the message that we need to be professional and clinical here and get the second goal to avert any hopes of a comeback.

Yep Ledley doesn’t go looking for the ball as obviously as Kayal and he needs to. But at the same time we need to make the effort to keep the ball and that involves the back 4 doing that also.

We still look capable of scoring another couple but only if we keep the pressure up. Brown went inside for a few minutes there with Stokea drifting right to try and reclaim the initiative but it had no real impact. It wasn’t that they were dominating midfield anyway, they just benefited from both teams bypassing it.

Mulgrew and Wilson commence the second half with a hoof each. Come on Celtic.

wtf was Commons doing there?

Mark Wilson is a better centre back than Zander Diamond. Aberdeen still waiting for him to mature and bulk up a bit.

Surprised at Kayal coming off there. Protect him from a yellow card maybe but this isn’t won yet.

Great chance for Commons there. He’s getting into great positions. Should have scored twice but he has been impressive.

Certain penalty there to deny Hooper.

Good patience being shown now. Don’t need to rush into creating chances.

Ah fucking hell. Wilson with a bullet centre back header. Super goal!
