A stronger team than I would have expected. We’ll need Stokes for Tuesday - hope it’s just a slight knock that’s keeping him out.
True on Stokes. Some chat that Mulgrew will be centre back with Ambrose pushed to right back and Matthews playing right midfield.
Sell out crowd. Good atmosphere. Lose this and our title challenge is over. Come on Celtic.
Ambrose is playing in the middle with Mulgrew centre back.
Yeah, it seems to be a 4-1-3-2 with Ambrose holding in front of the back four and Commons playing right up alongside Samaras.
Ambrose us playing well un that role so far. Still not convincing on the ball but hrs showing for well for it and really disciplined positioning and use of possession so far.
Playing games an awful lot of long balls to Samaras from Forster. Wish we’d play it out from the back a bit more.
Very good defending by Izzy there against Zola on that cross.
Good spell here with midfielders getting on top. Close from Ledley there.
Great strength from Sammy there to hold off Anderson and win the penalty and red card. Funny seeing players so vigorously protesting such an obvious decision. Brown to take it?
Samaras didn’t overrun that. The ball went out of play because he was fouled not because he took a heavy touch.
We should be using the full backs more in possession. Both are playing well on the ball but we only really trust them in their half. I’d like to see us build through them more and have them link up with the midfield.
We improved in the last quarter of an hour. Ledley, Brown and Commons started linking well, the full backs were threatening and Samaras is coming into it.
Yeah, the switch of Mulgrew and Ambrose worked well enough too. Mulgrew has a better range of passing in midfield and his ball to play in Samaras for the penalty was a good one. We lack a bit of width due to the formation and it really relied on Commons to provide inspiration from central areas. He improved as the half went on and we should kick on now with the lead and man advantage.
Point blank save by Forster from McGinn. He really should have buried that header.
Forrest seals it with a deflected effort after Ledley put him clear. Gary McAllister was absolutely distraught.
Lustig, van Dijk and Forrest have been introduced in the second half.
Full Time: Aberdeen 0-2 Celtic.
Celtic up to second place. Caley Thistle are in our sights.
