Aberdeen v Celtic

Celtic played well enough in the first half but found themselves 2-0 down. The inept and heartless second half display sickened me though. Another game where Deilaā€™s didnā€™t respond to adversity at all.

We started well at the weekend too.

In important games we generally start well. I think we were good in the first half against ICT last season. Same in the first leg of the Malmo game. Same against Molde (once anyway) and Fenerbahce. But then once teams start to attack us we FL sort, lose all belief, play without conviction and defend without shape. And thatā€™s before you consider that we are likely to keep conceding from corners no matter how well weā€™re playing.

Have a look at their penalty shout near the end again if you get a chance. That is a kick from their keeper. We have 5 guys standing within 10 yards of each other in our half. All in a really weird vertical line. And we still donā€™t win the first ball and still get beaten in behind. Itā€™s dreadful stuff.

There are so many things wrong that I have no faith in Deila fixing them. Our attacking play fizzles out repeatedly in games. Our defending is always calamitous. Itā€™s extraordinarily bad at set pieces. We have one goal threat in the squad. We are persisting with players who arenā€™t good enough in positions they arenā€™t suitable for. We lack imagination. We lack belief and fight. And we have some apparently decent players (Lustig, Bitton, possibly Johansen) who havenā€™t played well in months.

Thatā€™s from a kick out. Appalling.

Terrific win for Aberdeen last night. I was quite confident they would win. Now it gets a bit trickier. Next three leagues are away to St Johnstone, Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Partick Thistle. Donā€™t have a good recent record against St Johnstone, losing last time out 5-1.

Rooney and Pawlett have the Dons two up in Perth already.

Its going to be an Aberdeen/Spurs league double north and south. Steve Archibald must be a happy man these days.

A bad night for the Dons in Inverness again. Theyā€™ve just lost 3-1 at Caley Thistle after being 1-0 up and Jonny Hayes went off with a first half injury.

Big game now at home to St Johnstone tomorrow. Door is open again with Celtic dropping points at Hamilton tonight.

Hugely disappointing from Aberdeen conceding a late penalty equaliser at home to St Johnstone.

Good win at Tannadice. Celtic held at home to Dundee. Gap is down to 4.

Deila and McGuinness out.

I see Deila is still persisting with Stuart Armstrong.

Aberdeen close the gap to 1 again beating Kilmarnock 2-1 at Pittodrie.

Aberdeen just about staying in contention for the title with Celtic dropping two points at Dundee tonight.

Catastrophic defeat for Aberdeen at Tynecastle tonight after taking an early lead too. Game is up now.

Thanks for letting me know, mate.

Disastrous evening so far for the Dons in Perth. St Johnstone are leading 3-0.

Not as bad a fade out as last season, but Aberdeen have again faltered badly on the run in.

The champions elect drew 1-1 at home to Ross County today, I see.
