Abortion Referendum Thread

Other than a married couple or a couple who are partners and want a child, why would any man have a say? That’s the bizarre logic of a lot of the no side, in cases where it’s an unplanned pregnancy, men should have no say. In all honesty a lot of men in that situation could care less anyway.

Ah here.

I’m sure men would want a say if theyre on the hook for maintenance.

Plus some men might care about their partners and whether they’re pregnant or not. Those few men who aren’t misogynist rapist pigs that is.

Cora Sherlock always reminded me of MIckey Kelly of the GAA Assimilation committee character that Apres Match created.

If RTE are baulking Maria Steen on the basis that she’s had her say why is Simon Harris continuing to be given unlimited airtime to explain his Road to Damascus moment for the umpteenth time?

In the interests of balance and all that…

Peadar Tóibín instead…

A lot of stool shifting in the 51 now I’d say

It was supposed to be 2 v 2.

Simon Harris and Mary Higgins v Cora Sherlock and Peadar Toibin.

The No side have clearly not been able to come up with anybody so RTE have caved in and allowed them to have a 1 v 1 rather than 2 v 2.

This was a deeply cynical, obviously pre-arranged set piece by the No campaign.

No campaign is imploding.

I’d say men probably do care whether their potential child is aborted or not

Lolzers

@Sidney Do you find yourself in the unusual position of cheering on a FG minister against a SF TD?

Tobin can’t and won’t answer the rape question.

Harris is some smug cunt

Simon Harris wearing a “Tá” badge. Fíor Gael Peadars badge “Vote No”

I think you’ll find I’ve been very complimentary of Simon Harris on this issue, mate.

Toibin is a good media performer, but like all No campaigners he’ll be dealing largely in lies and red herrings in this.

Yes side about 4-0 up here despite the punchable bulb on Harris.

You seem to have an awful problem with men having to pay maintenance. You seem extremely backward on this.
