Jesus Christ @Gman what has happened to West Coast?
Awful stuff. To be honest, im not watching many full games of them these days. Im not getting up early and giving up sat mornings to watch them concede 200 points. But still would see highlights and bits of it. They have a serious amount of injuries, last year the same. The whole nic nat thing is fucking them up too. Either he can play or.he retires, but 2 years waiting to come back from injury is a joke and it messes up long term plans. But their senior players in the middle are at nothing. One of the goals tofayand tim kelly barely touched the swans guy and he ran 50m untouched to tap thru a goal. No effort, no intensity, no work rate. Simpson is in trouble, but i dont think hes the issue.
The swans are no great shakes, while I expected a decent win, didn’t expect that.
I knew WC were bottom but hadn’t realised the problems they have.
Friday is the big day, Zach Tuohy will equal Jim Stynes’s 264-game record as the highest number of AFL games by an Irish player. Speaking earlier in the season Tuohy said
“It would be an honour if it happens, it is stranger to think I have been around for that long"
“It doesn’t feel like it to me. I have said it before, it will be a bit embarrassing for me if I do get there because it feels like shooting Bambi a bit.
“He is a legend to everyone, me included. It will be an honour but it will feel strange being mentioned next to him in any way.”
Stynes played 244 games consecutively.
This Sydney Geelong game is a stinker. coming into the end of the third and its 5.15 to 6.8. Sydney cant kick a goal to save themselves and Geelong are playing shite. All to play for in the last quarter tho, both of them need a win to stay within finals contention
Draw game, 6-18 to 7.12. It was great from a tense and tight view, but jeez it was awful stuff. Zach on now giving an interview
Do you actually enjoy the sport in general? It’s way too long and not great to watch IMO
Depends on the game really, like much sport. But a good game of AFL is a good watch IMO. I dont watch rugby much but many rave about that, horses for courses.
end of an era. Probably the best ruckman to have ever played the game, but his injuries and longevity wouldnt have him as the greatest ruckman to have ever played. Unstoppable at his best, when he’d come out of the centre bounce with the ball and shrug off tackles, or his tap outs to a running player, utterly dominant.
This lad is supposed to be unreal. Big loss to Kilmoyley Hurling & Ardfert Football. Was on the fast track to the Kerry senior footballers as well, and is a midfielder and they crying out for one.
Great opportunity for him.
It’s on!
The Blues beat the Demons 73-71 with a goal with 56 seconds left in front of 96,000 people.
Is Setanta Halpin still lining out for Carlton?
40 year old Setanta retired about 10 years ago chief. He stayed out there and played in the bush leagues and did quite well
The AFL’s equivalent of the MK Dons, the GWS Giants, along with their 22 supporters are advancing to a 2019 preliminary final (semi-final) rematch with Collingwood.
They have a now unassailable 27 point lead over Port Adelaide in the semi-final (which is actually a quarter-final).
So are Carlton in the final?
I watched the highlights of their win v Melbourne who kicked it away.
Preliminary finals are:
Brisbane v Carlton
Collingwood v Greater Western Sydney
A Carlton v Collingwood Grand Final would be the biggest sporting event in the world this year, maybe ever.
What are Irish connections if any in those 4
