AFL 2024

Harvey Harrison goals for Collingwood. 84-79. This is an absolute belter of a final quarter so far. 14 minutes left.

Gerrard style slip by Nick Hind. Beau McCreery takes on the Demba Ba role. Pies lead 84-85.

This is epic.

Absolutely epicā€¦ a pure armwrestle

Mihocekā€¦ Ugly kick

And another one! Two of the worst kicks youā€™ll ever see.

Pressureā€¦ In front of 94K people

Bombers deserve something out of this. 84-85 just under 3 minutes left. Frantic stuff.

Langford!!! You beauty

Aaaaggh

Unreal

Incredible stuff. As thrilling a sporting spectacle as youā€™ll find anywhere in the world. The first ever Anzac Day game in 1995 was a draw too. Elliott of Collingwood should have taken that mark with 30 seconds left.

But Langford will have nightmares about that missed shot.

saw the last quarter. hectic stuff. Draws are such a deflating result in AFL for both sides.

I donā€™t really understand why it should be so. I mean itā€™s far less deflating than a loss.

You get two points for a draw which is half the four points you get for a win. In association football you get one point for a draw and three points for a win. Yet ā€œweā€™re happy with a pointā€ is a frequent refrain from players and managers.

There was some talk after the game today that there should be extra-time, maybe golden score extra-time or some such.

No, no, no. Why would you do away with draws? Because the NFL has overtime?

It surely wonā€™t be long before the dreaded ā€œbonus pointā€ is introduced to the game.

Jamie Elliott failed to catch a reasonably easy mark with 25 seconds left. Hereā€™s one he did make earlier in the game.

This is wonderful and should have been played after the siren this morning.

The G is packed again for Geelong v Carlton.

Cats looking ominous to go 7 and 0 with a 24 point half time lead.

Charlie Curnow with the first goal of the second half for the baggers. Now Curnow sets it up for Jack Carroll to reduce the margin further.

Paddy Dangerfield is gone off injured.

71-58 to the Cats.

Cats 87 Baggers 76 at three qwautah toyme.

Carlton closed to four points but the Cats have steadied.

Carltonā€™s shooting outside of Charlie Curnow and Harry Mackay is awful. Two behinds to start the final term. 87-78.

Tuohy!

Three goals for the Leix man!
