has 3 seasons as a regular, albeit this was his first year playing all 22 games. O Connor also started all 22 this year. Both play off half back, albeit in different roles with McKenna using his pace to break out of defence. Both key players for their teams. Arguably yeah, McKenna a bit ahead of O Connor, but not a whole lot really.

It isnât a game of brute force . Very skillful sport that had a good level of physicality . Any lad that is deemed good enough should jump at the chance .
It was some 4th quarter though, huge effort and the very nearly did it. The week break again you could argue for their big final push and GWS hanging on. They did similar last week in Brisbane, really good full back line play under huge pressure.
Richmond will be big favourites, but theyâve failed in big games before as heavy favourites.
Watch the size of all them guys, bulging muscles. No 5 foot 6 guys like eoin murchan in this.
I saw the highlights there an hour or so ago
GWS barely scored in the final quarter if at all, and Collingwood got back to six points down with seven minutes to go
They should have been able to see it home from there
As an aside, Greater Western Sydney Giants must be the worst club name in sport and they have very few supporters
Pure focus group stuff and they play in a terrible, soulless stadium in the Olympic park
They have completely failed as a club compared to the A Leagueâs Western Sydney Wanderers who were set up around the same time
Their colours are horrible too
The traditional VFL big four were Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon and Richmond

Richmond v GWS is a very unappetising final whereas Richmond v Collingwood would have been good
It would have brought back memories of the weird and wonderful Aussie Rules based comedy film âThe Clubâ which was based around the last Collingwood v Richmond final in 1980

Hard to disagree with any of that. The Swans arenât hugely supported in NRL heartland, so putting in GWS from a supporters perspective made little sense. Similar to Gold Coast. Particularly when they have no team in Tassie but a state that is big into AFL, it was about maximizing financial and advertising exposure and trying to eat into rugby league territory.
Although all the team songs are cringe, the GWS one really takes the biscuit.
I wonder did the people who came up with the âGreater Western Sydney Giantsâ name think, âWestern Sydney Giantsâ is too area-specific, if we call it âGreater Western Sydneyâ weâll pull in a few more supporters from Penrith etc.
