Hon Zach
I agree but be good to see them play a proper sport like soccer. Not this game of brute force.
Geelong up by 21 points at half time. Havent seen a whole lot of the game, but the bits I have seen is that Geelong have kept the same intensity and pressure they had last week and Richmond are playing quite poorly making numerous mistakes. They also have a number of injuries now too and are struggling.
Richmond are 4 points up just into the final quarter
Richmond are 10 points up
Theyâre going to win
Richmond are 5 points up
16 minutes left
Is McKenna the best of the current Irish crop out there?
âJack wonât miss thisâ, says the commentator as a Richmond player lines up a fairly easy shot from a mark
Jack misses
Number 19 for Richmond doesnât miss
Richmond lead by 11
Jack misses again
He thought he had scored
He hadnât
Well, he scored a wide
Some of the passing, strategy and skills execution in this game is so poor
Defenders are giving a lot of space to attackers within scoring range, but the attackers are not looking for the ball and not making any runs
Instead the kicker just balloons a hit and hope into a very crowded area
This is very much the case when Geelong have the ball
Simple dropped catches and poor shooting too
Anyway Richmond are going to win
Some guy they call âThe Human Meatballâ has just kicked a goal
Richmond have a guy called âHoulyâ playing for them
I wonder is it 1990s Armagh stalwart Ger Houlahan
Jack misses again
Heâs shit
Bachar Houli, first muslim to play AFL.
Jack has been shit. Richmond will win this anyway. Set up for a marquee grand final should Collingwood prevail tomorrow as they should.
None of the traditional big four have played each other in a final since 1993
Tuohy would be the best at the moment. Key player in Geelongs defence and is one who gets on the ball an awful lot. Part of their leadership group too and up to start of this season had the record of most consecutive games played for current players. O Connor and McKenna are probably on equal merit, and Hanley would have been ranked ahead of them both, but to be honest I saw fuck all of him this year so dont really know how he is going with the hapless Suns.
Thats some second half from Richmond. Similar to the Eagles last week, except the Tigers pushed on in the last quarter where the Eagles folded. Hawkins out was a big loss for Geelong and its easy to say the weeks break is the reason for the 4th quarter difference.
Geelongâs play-offs record has been very poor since they last won it in 2011
They regularly get top 4 but are always run out of it in the play-offs
I think Richmond are the best team in this and will win the final but I hope Collingwood win
I think having to play an extra game is very difficult to overcome in this sport as itâs so physical
A lesson if anybody is betting on the outcome of Rugby World Cup games
Time to come home Zach
McKenna is surely ahead of OâConnor? He has about 4 seasons as a regular now.
