Mwepu Ilunga is now a coach with the DR Congo, I ask you, do you need any other reasons to support our boys?!

@Tony Lynch takes no prisoners

i dont write for the racing post
Mark Langdon is ok on lower league football but apart from that there is not much else

He’s my gimp

The groups are lop sided. One and two much weaker than three and four. Cap Verde to reach the quarter finals again.

I’m all over this. Like a mayo man on a runners up medal.

Ivory Coast 1-0 down to the Guinea’s, Gervinho sent off.

Has to be done

sorry dunph only saw that now
decent game here, cameroon and mali,
1-1 going into stoppage time
Cameroon started as favourites and unbelievably well to me anyway left clinton n’jie who is a pretty decent player for Lyon on the bench
Mali went one up but cameroon woke up and some lad called Oyongo who plays for new york scored a quite fantastic goal
The Cameroon keeper a young lad is awful, Chedjou from Galatasaray keeps it together at the back allright and they look decent going forward
The whole tournament is very equal, 5 of the 8 games so far have ended one all.
as an aside the officiating here tonight was top notch, 2 goals righty disallowed for offiside in added time and no tolerance for play acting for which the Malians (?) were at wholesale
all in all a decent but classically naive game of African ball… the fact that Algeria and Tunisia are back at the forefornt of the game shows how it has turned full cycle really and we are back to the status quo of the 80’s… Ivory Coast could only draw with Guinea earlier … in 2006 ivory coast , ghana , cameroon were seen to be future world champions but they never kicked on

Yeah and you can add Nigeria to that list of Ghana, Cameroon and Ivory Coast of countries who were expected to keep progressing and to become big powerhouses. They have all gone back a lot and seems what they had were more like golden generations. Would i be right in saying there seems to be a disproportionately large number of draws in this competition down the years?

What are we backing tonight @mickee321? Are the Congo any good?

no one all draws tonight.
Algeria go on pretty easily taking care of a rash and naive Senegal
Bentaleb scored a screamer, i wasnt impressed with Algeria against Ghana at all but tonight was a lot better
algeria are too short now but are most likely
Tunisia are very good EW value

bizarre scenes tonight, ok ANOTHER 1-1 draw,
anyway Mali and Guinea need to draw lots tomorro to see who will go through after finishing perfectly level after another 1-1 draw
how does one draw lots, ? im intrigued at how this will play out
so its

congo / DR congo
TUNISIA / equit Guinea
Algeria/ mali or guinea
ghana/ CIV

looking at
congo/tunisia
algeria / ghana

tunisia-algeria final

tournament has recached joke status now, first we have this drawing of lots crack on wednesday after a ridiculous amount of one all draws
tonight Tunisia go one up on equitorial guinea but suddenly in the 90th min the host nation are given a spotter after a blatant dive, they go on to score a winner from a free kick in ET.,… its all looking very South Korea 2002…

DR. Congo are gonna walk this

Ghana hammering Guinea.

Cracking goal from Atsu from Ghana. absolute screamer.
Atsu on the books at Chelsea apparently, though hasn’t started yet. Some player.
