Agricultural Shows

Only ever been to the Mohill one but going to the Elphin one today.

Do the country folk here go to their local show ? Use this thread to tell us your show highlights and lowlights.

I’ve been advised to buy a pair of wellington boots ahead of today but think I might chance going without

Ye wont need wellies DB a good pair of work boots will do,is the elpin show a big one

Not sure Massey mate. It’s Mrs DB’s local show and she goes every year so just down with her.

Did she make some jam for it,the old tractors and machinery are always worth a look youll proably get roped into a tug of war competition theyre always good craic

FFS- your fancy women taking you to a agricultural show-loser

me the brisbane lion and the kids went to the eccka last week- good craic for kids playing with the animals

What would you know about agricultural shows mate ?

If it’s anything like the Mohill one, I’m in for a treat

Frankly I think people make a mountain out of that Mohill show. It’s not that good.

Though not an agricultural show the Birr game fair deserves a mention. Great exhibition of falconry this year.

Off to bed shortly. Up at 5.45am, a bulletproof coffee down the swanney and off we go to the ploughing.

Haven’t been in a few years. Surprisingly giddy.

There isn’t a tyre left on any tractor after today. A right good venue, great weather and serious crowds. But fuck am i wrecked.

Well you working there CH?

I manned a stand back in 07 and 08 and its a long few days… great crack in the local towns in the evenings though.

I kicked the tyres off an MF5455 a good few times…
