Air 2 water heating

I’ve upgraded my insulation & anything above 18° during winter is too warm tbh - 17° probably enough but women are inherently cold creatures.

During summer stays down at 12° & pump only runs to heat water after showers or baths.

We do have solid fuel stoves & they’re handy when power goes & women again just love flames….

If I’m remaining here
I’ll invest in an insert stove soon
Could have done with it a few weeks ago

Humidifier must be hard on electricity?

It that unhealthily warm? In a highly insulated house, it just seems too warm to me.

Anywhere 18-21 apparently.

No it’s on alnight
But not kicking in as I lower temperature on thermostat
Lower it to 16 upstairs

I honestly don’t know
Just got the bigger one recently
Dues the job as I have a full load in the washing machine every 3 days( gym etc)
Whereas before it took days to dry
Now it takes a few hours,
And clothes are wrinkle free.
I’d highly recommend it,
One I got in amazon came with over 2 k positive reviews

I’ve seen negative also .
But afaik electric isn’t too bad,
Know if several households using them,
And can categorically state houses that use a dehumidifier will not have mould

Did a house recently
house moulded ,
Had to use this
The 2 rooms in this large bungalow that had a dehumidifier in had no signs of mould

Mould is toxic, dangerous stuff. That paint is definitely an improvement but it’s a sticky tape solution to a fundamental issue with ventilation and to a lesser extent… cold surfaces.

Correct
But it will kill it
And provided they open a bloody window
And put in a decent extraction fan
They’ll win
I’m using it for years
Mostly rentals
Heat on full blast- no open windows- hot hitting cold- condensation- cycle , cycle , cycle
Dehumidifier certainly helps

U got it
Suppose I was as bad drying mine on the clothes horse in front of the fire :fire: back aways
No moukd though
Windows opened and proper ventilation
It’s common sense

Rads house here.
The sister in law said to put the clothes on a clothes horse for a day before putting them on the rads.

Seems to help.
But the water has to go somewhere…

Honestly the dehumidifier is the job

Paired my clothing yesterday on the line for a few hours ( including large towels and jeans)

Then had the rad on a low heat plus the dehumidifier- bingo

3 hours bone dry

She has them out on the line today for the first time this year.

We’ll see what the verdict is later on.

Tbh it can be
I’ve since started using it to 18.5/19 upstairs
20 c down stairs
Marked improvement in comfort

Still it bothers me that’
It’s on always
