From most reports I’ve read and 2K plus reviews of the one I purchased it’s fairly easy by all accounts

I try keep the temperature at 20 all over the house, and we have thermostats in most rooms that can be set individually. We don’t have solar panels as we’re not eligible for grants yet. We have underfloor heating and no radiators.

The house is pretty warm due to all the insulation and a good lot of glass especially in the kitchen. One of the snow days, the sky was clear and the sun was shining despite it being freezing outside, the glasshouse effect in our kitchen meant it was 26 degrees in the kitchen.

One of the upstairs bedroom thermostats was showing 30.4 a few minutes ago. First time I’ve seen them break 30.

I’d imagine most of those are folk throwing them into old leaky houses with old radiators.

Heat pumps are a waste of time unless your in a new house.

ours is as good as new afaik
New doors/ windows.
Loft filled with natural wool ( pumped)
Etc
There’s a huge difference ref draught etc- gone
But tbh I really miss the open

The house here is A rated and I’d say if I spend 800 euros a year heating it it’s about as much as I spend; a full year of having Solar panels this year will bring it down a bit further.

Look ok im a miserable bastard ref electricity or was.
My bills before were 80/ 90 every few months ,
Most was e115

Last bill was e220
Only difference is the air to water
And I invested in a dehumidifier for to dry the laundry,
I’m a daily gym user so 2 big loads weekly,
And I have my dad’s on now to 17 Celsius.
Oh and I bought a throw( electric blanket to all intents and purpose

I’m saving on not using coal alright and maybe I’m panicking or just wrong but I’ve no faith in this system

I have 2 wood fired stoves; one is in a room that you’d have to strip down to your shorts if you the stove was on; the other is in a room with a vaulted ceiling and we light that at weekends but it is probably not really necessary.

I reckon I’m about 800 a year for heat light sound and everything in between. Have a wood stove but only use it for cosiness/decoration (I love a fire).

I think if you are anything over 21 degrees in a room you are probably wasting energy/fuel but like you say the comfort is nice

It does be feckin roasting but it’s double height room. Herself and my daughter like 25 degrees. I like 18, and 14 to sleep but can’t get our bedroom that cold ever.
Killer was Christmas when my lass left her room and bathroom set to 24 degrees and it freezing out, little solar coming in, and nobody there.
I had a word which went in one ear and out the other.
