The only thing lacking from that was Fran Gavin’s sleeve spontaneously catching fire like Apres Match’s Jim Delaney character.

what have the FAI been doing with all the money?

It’s all part of the process. Just stick your fingers in your ears and repeat.

what?

its not their job to subsidize badly run clubs.

Whats the alternative? Have the fans bail them out again and again?

Rovers threw their semi final last night because they were afraid of coming to Limerick

Fine. Then don’t claim to have created an environment for City, Dundalk and Rovers to be successful.

You are only as strong as your weakest link.

The hypocrisy from FAI is astonishing. I would say if an american style audit was done a few would end up in the clink.

Lucky for them we have the top notch Irish style auditors so

Positives for the league the FAI are involved with

  • Restructuring under age football creating pathways to excellence
  • Pigsboro redevelopment
  • SRFC Academy
  • 10 Million centre in Glanmire
  • Dundalks European success
  • LOI players are now the backbone of the Irish team
  • A participation agreement all the big clubs are happy with

When the debt on the stadium is paid off the money floating around will be off the charts

Negatives
diddy clubs cant get their ahead around being forced to think strategically

Ok lets take the easy low hanging fruit here.

Positives for the league the FAI are involved with*

Restructuring under age football creating pathways to excellence - extremely flawed approach based on another country (Belguim) with a completely different culture and talent pool. A complete waste of time and still misses the point of developing all players and coaches.

Pigsboro redevelopment - Dublin CC will pay for it

SRFC Academy - Rovers doing. And why not help every club?

10 Million centre in Glanmire - not going to happen

Dundalks European success - nothing at all to do with it

LOI players are now the backbone of the Irish team - nothing to do with them, completely down to the individuals and good agents.

A participation agreement all the big clubs are happy with - Nonsonse obviously. They are up in arms about it.

When the debt on the stadium is paid off the money floating around will be off the charts

Negatives

  • diddy clubs cant get their ahead around being forced to think strategically - they are largely volunteers.

ok - Im not going to get into a bunfight with you as your sphere of influence is amateur sports but ill respond so as to allow you learn from this.

Restructuring under age football creating pathways to excellence - extremely flawed approach based on another country (Belguim) with a completely different culture and talent pool. A complete waste of time and still misses the point of developing all players and coaches. - Having pathways from development squads into the the LOI isn’t based on whats going on in Belgium, its a positive and logical step

Pigsboro redevelopment - Dublin CC will pay for it - The FAI will contribute towards it and have advocated for this, the fact they are getting top ups from state is a positive thing for the FAI

SRFC Academy - Rovers doing. And why not help every club?- What other clubs have plans to do this? its the clubs responsibility to do this not the FAI, the FAI are advocating and facilitating for this

10 Million centre in Glanmire - not going to happen - Oh yes it will

Dundalks European success - nothing at all to do with it - Odd that spock came out praising them last week

LOI players are now the backbone of the Irish team - nothing to do with them, completely down to the individuals and good agents.- Nope

A participation agreement all the big clubs are happy with - Nonsonse obviously. They are up in arms about it.- Nope,2 clubs are up in arms, the silence from the rest is telling
