Limerick just don’t have the necessary quality up front. Like against us last year, they had plenty of ball but they don’t do enough damage with it. Kilkenny just won an All-Ireland semi-final with 2-13. That says it all.

massive effort from limerick. kilkenny were ready to go over the cliff and then one big ignorant ball into the square changed everything. kilkenny fought like absolute dogs and are a great group but on the day had limerick scored any of the scuttery goal chances they had i dont think they would have had the energy to work the scores they would need. you couldnt rule it out but its a lot easier to pile bodies back and defend a lead than it is to push forward for scores.
limerick were also undone by having no subs at all
