Late in the second half as he came on. It was a dunt into the ribs type of thing.
Bugler got red for similar, but lots of lads get a warning as happened today, with O’Mahony getting one for good measure.
“Taped” It on the sky plus but without even seeing it and knowing Henry he went in to “acquaint” his marker so will not be shocked. The overriding point though I think is also considering Buglers sending off which in my opinion could not have affected play i.e. off the ball fair enough but just jostly stuff as was Collins incident have
been dealt with harshly - Do discretions auger harsher discipline after the ref initially blows, is this the point refs are making ?
They showed Shefflin coming on there. Not having seen his red card offense talked about here, I was hugely let down by what I saw. Nothing incident.
O Grady’s pull on Holden was bad, and to be honest, I saw little difference in that to O Hanlons strike on Dowling that had the limerick lads up in arms. He did what he had to do to stop Power scoring, it was the ref who made a balls of that.
Hogan a cert for player of the year after that, and Dowling for young player. Can’t see either being knocked off.
I thought that for the day that was in it McGrath refereed very well. Probably could have put O’Grady off but that aside I wouldn’t have done much differently. Anyway DOG got his punishment with the goal. It really was a stupid foul in the circumstances. Holden was going nowhere.

Agree except for Shefflin. Should have got yellow an shouldn’t be getting away with that shit based on his reputation. O’Grady probably deserved red, at that stage of the game it wouldn’t have mattered anyway. Some of the first half incidents where kk players might have seen cards might have had an impact. Maybe limerick might have had cards too, but I think if Kelly had reffed it JJ would have been off.

I don’t think refs are making any point to be honest. They apply the rules inconsistently. Shefflin got sent off last year for something very innocuous.
I think the ref made a conscious decision not to send off O’Grady after the first pull, even though Horgan got red last year for something much lighter.
There seems to be a massive amount of off the ball fouling this year, holding, dragging, checking, etc and refs are very inconsistent on it.
Christ yeah, can imagine him in 5/6 years time hanging in there “probably” going for his 14th All-Ireland medal “driving things on”, getting embarrassing really !
I thought it was harmless, looked to me like he went to throw the hurl at GOM but was only faking it, and didnt strike him. That was on one viewing though and from behind, so I could well be wrong.
Just seeing that pull by O Grady again, it was way worse than O Hanlons. He pulled one handed on Holdens hand holding the hurl. If refs are to be consistent (and people moaning about fouls) then that should have been a definite red. Whatever about the cynical take down later, but I dont think that was wild, it was just cynical.

Agree, maybe someone will do a slow motion version of it
Reminded me of the 2004 semi final, also played on a shitty day. KK were there for the taking both days, but Lk like Wd 10 years earlier couldn’t put them to the sword.
