All-Ireland Football Championship 2022

Astonishing given how Meath will beat Dublin

No post in 4 days on the football championship thread. In a week where the worst AI champions in a generation were thrashed in the first round

You’d nearly miss the eyetalians

Kildare’s to lose

You are starting to get nervous.

What will Kerry bate Cork by this weekend?

Whatever the margin would be in Pairc Ui Chaoimh you can lop a third of it off in Flower Lodge.

18 in Pairc Ui Chaoimh = 12 in Flower Lodge.

Cork would be happy enough to escape with a 12 point trimming. I’d say it could be a lot worse

Conversely, Kerry would probably be happy enough to keep it to 12.

I’d say they are half hoping Cork give them loads of it. Otherwise the first serious game they get could be KO against battle hardened opponents

I expect at least two provincial champions to fall in the quarter-finals - the system heavily advantages teams coming through the back door.

But Kerry won’t be one of them.

Potential banana skin for Westmeath and Cavan alright

Not at all. They are a lovely side who play a very nice brand of football and have some very very decent individuals involved. It would be a tonic for gaelic football were a county like Kildare to win the All Ireland.
