The thing is, while this game will be intriguing, I’m not sure this ultra-deep defending will allow Donegal to beat the very best teams which is what they should surely be aiming for.
To beat Dublin or Kerry or whoever, you need to be able to go man-to-man against them.
Brilliant handpass there.
Donegal’s shooting is ultra-constipated.
Derry are making space with ease when they attack.
Derry getting through the cover quite easily. A lot of Donegal bodies back there not doing anything in particular, got lucky with the wide.
Donegal are terribly coached.
Mogan’s second point. Comfortably Donegal’s best player so far.
Followed up with another one by Murphy. First time the Derry kickout has been exposed.
A football game could break out here.
Lack of respect for the kicker from the Oak leaf county supporters
Fairly standard point there absolutely stunning according to Marty
Brendan Rogers is putting himself firmly in the frame for FOTY here.
And players.
Solo as far as you can up the sideline. Get nowhere. Kick it back to midfield, try the same thing on the other side of the pitch.
They’ll still win this
Donegal will be relatively happy with that scoreline, all things considered. Haven’t really got going and only a goal down.
Langan couldn’t get goal off his mind there when he knew there was no chance and the point was the only option. Confusion leads to those sort of blazing high and wide finishes. Bryan Walsh of Mayo in last year’s All-Ireland was a classic of the genre.
Game on now.
What. A. Start. To the second half.
Goal should have been disallowed though.
Poor keeping. He was ropey enough under the high ball at the end of the first half too.
Probably a square ball on first viewing.
Yeah, not good goalkeeping at all.
