All Ireland Football Final 2020 Dublin v Mayo

Mayo will put the dubs to the sword. 6 point win. Like finding money lying on the ground. Easiest money you’ll ever make. Free money for old rope

I heard that because Sam is staying in Croke Park following the match, the curse doesn’t count anymore.

Aidan o Shea has been like a new man this championship. He’s been absolutely excellent.

An improvement over generally being stone useless?

Why have you it in for Mayo so much?

Dublin have played Westmeath, Laois, Meath and Cavan (no disrespect to any of those teams) who’ll all be scattered between division 2 and 3 next season. We haven’t yet seen if there are chinks in Dessie Farrell’s armoury but the league suggested they were coming back to pack a slight bit. I’m hopeful that Mayo won’t be half as loose in the AI final. They’ve tested Dublin’s mettle in 2013, 16’ and 17’ finals.

Dublin starting forwards from the last day aren’t a particularly vintage crop:

  1. Niall’s Scully: Workhorse, modern wing-forward but not a massive scorer (7/10)

  2. Ciaran Kilkenny: Much more expressive in attack in recent seasons and a contender for player of the year. He was a pass backwards merchant until circa 2017.

  3. Sean Bugler: Seems to be in the mound of Scully. Untested at this level.

  4. Paddy Small: Relatively inexperienced at this level as well, I’d imagine Mannion might sneak in here in a late change.

  5. Con O’ Callaghan: Tore Mayo apart last year. Hopefully he has one of those quiet days.

  6. Dean Rock: Great free-taker but not convinced that he’s in the leaguer with prime Bernard Brogan at all.

We’ll take these. Mayo! Mayo! Mayo!

Scully has 1-5 from play in 4 games, Buglers has 2-4 from play in 4 games.

If they are the non-scoring forwards then it’s time to worry.

Scully is a great man for a championship goal alright. See goals against Donegal and Tyrone in 2018 for instance. It’s the bench impact I’d be worried about with Costello, Mannion, Howard etc.
Hopefully Tommy Goals arrives in Croke Park and Mark Moran makes an impact off the bench!

Dean Rock will out on a free taking clinic. Cillian O’Tapover should pay him for the privilege.

Fuck Mayo.

Not quite as strong as when they had Brogan and Connolly. Although I suppose Paddy Andrews wasn’t an all-star on paper but a solid contributor nonetheless. We’ll see if Robbie McDaid is an adequate replacement for Jack McCaffrey on Saturday.

Be quiet you fool.

Mayo have 1 scoring forward who will go hiding Saturday night & perhaps kick a few frees.

Dublin by as much as Limerick yesterday.
