It was in itâs hole, the game today is like night and day compared to 50odd years ago. Itâs faster, more physically demanding, greater numbers of scores and much more skillful. On the flip side the handpassing is a tremendous blight on the game, they should be one and one only hand movement and the ball must then be played with the foot.
Galway were a lovely slick side, 4 finals in a row winning a treble with pretty much the same 20.
Kerry as Fagan said weâre the closest to this Dublin machine but relied overly on a few die-hards for too long. This Dublin team are rightfully the greatest, constantly evolving which is keeping them constantly competitive. Fulvio has nailed it though, the conditioning is the key difference between them and others. That, together with a rigid game plan is their key.
The hope to beating them lies in getting 3-5 ahead of them entering the last 10 and being able to force them out of their pattern while being able to go toe to toe. I donât foresee anymore out there with these credentials. Theyâre a superbly prepared outfit.

I canât see Kerry adapt sufficiently to overturn them, they pride themselves in the purity of their style whatever that entails. Itâll have to be an Ulster county if anyone can. Theyâll possess the required levels of ruthless doggedness to drag the Dubs into an arm wrestle and pip them at the death. Tyrone or possibly Donegal although theyâll have to move quickly before Murphyâs influence wanes.
