That Galway team fairly shattered the myth about Galway always having nice footballers. They were fucking useless. Lost the match and the row.

Championship was particularly lopsided in the 70’s and 80’s. After Down won the All Ireland Final of 1968 up to Down beating Kerry in the 1991 semi final Munster/Leinster champions won 29 out of 30 semi finals against Connacht/Ulster opposition and 8 out of 8 finals. The only win registered by Connacht/Ulster over Leinster/Munster opposition in 38 games over that 23 year period was Galway beating Offaly in the 1973 semi final. Galway were only in the 1983 final as it was the three year cycle where the Connacht champions were paired against Ulster champions in the 1983 semi final.

Whatever about Galway in 1983, they possibly deserved to beat Offaly in the 1982 semi final and were unlucky to lose out by a point after playing quite well. Whether Galway would have stopped a Kerry 5 in a row is a moot point.

Galways best forward was mistakingly sent off, the west brits should have had more sent off but the ref was too afraid of them to control them.
I was discussing social situations. Dubliners are loudmouth fools by and large, all talk. Especially English soccer fans like yourself. Amazing how reasonable dubliners with country parents are in contrast.

Should have more sent off but ye knew the ref wouldn’t do the necessary. Galway tried to play football, the west brits didn’t. What would you kbow about it, you turn dublin matches off to watch england play ffs
