All Ireland Gold or now to be known as old matches on d’tele

I honestly remember very little of it and Waterford supporters are bandwagoners anyway so it was soon forgotten

In all fairness Ciaran McDonald was some footballer

Dublin v Galway 1983 on now . A bit robust .

Nogra getting a shoeing.

Rumour was that James McCarthy oul lad John who played for dubs in 70s was a copper in the tunnel for the game. Bit of a shemozzle at half time and Talty was getting digs off the Dubs. McCarthy broke it up but hammered a few more digs into Talty on the sly and he never returned for the second half!

That softcock Talty never crossed the Shannon again. Stockholm syndrome I suppose.

I’d love to compare Joe McNally’s diet in 1983 to Philly McMahon’s today .

He brought his unique brand of cuntishness to the clubs of north Dublin. They were a good match.

Galway are somewhat amusing in the scale of their incompetence

Galway were some shower of big girl’s blouses.

My father has a scrap book from the time which contains letters to the papers after that final by outraged rural snowflakes. I must dig it out. They were tremendously entertaining, if I remember correctly, and I do.

Isn’t your auld lad from Galway?

He’s from nowhere near it.

He’s from off the Whitworth Road, within earshot of Croke Park.

My recollection is that Big Joe was motm. Well deserved too.
