The advantage rule in hurling will certainly change next year to mirror the football equivalent. At present a referee may allow an advantage but may not subsequently award a free if no advantage accrues.
Would be a positive move in fairness.
That’s what I understood, but as free takers these days can regularly score from their own 45 forward, there seems little point in playing an advantage unless a goal is a near certainty. It has vexed me for some time as it usually is an advantage to the fouling team.
FUCK CORK NASH AND MURPHY THE PRICK
Joe has lost the plot…
You have the poor little craytur wound up like a clock. God help us.
Press Release: Playing Rules of Hurling
Monday, June 09, 2014
Arising from concerns in relation to implementation of the Playing Rules of Hurling in respect of the taking of penalty pucks and free pucks from the 20 metres line, the Management Committee of the GAA will recommend Interpretation of Rules to Central Council to address these concerns.
It is envisaged that this process will be completed as quickly as possible and in advance of this weekend’s games.
This’ll be gas. Kilkenny Frank strikes again?
That cunt Nash has a lot to answer for.
so much drama around these Nash peno’s now I wonder would Cork b better off letting Pat Horgan strike them on Sunday if they get one
Shane Dowling brought the sliotar in quite a bit v Tipp for his freetaking goal. were you shouting about it then?
Nash strong Limerick connections - don’t be calling him names!
Based on what’s been presented they can interpret maybe 5 ways. Most of them advantageous to the defending team.
The rule is an ill conceived piece of shite though.
Nash probably carries a yard further than say TJ Reid or Henry Shefflington. This has been going on for years. DJ used to do it as well.
Nash just seems to have garnered way more publicity.

Of course not, we benefited from it so why would I complain about it.
Nash is a hero.
