Brainless stuff from Wexford. Murphy is about as useful as an under water hairdryer. Chin has done nothing. Puckouts have been abysmal. Work rate non existant and rate of individual errors has been innumerable. Why hit a 30 yard puckout and immediately be on defence and probably cough up possession
Whatâs the general consensus in Pairc Ui Caoimh, mate?
That was poor. I think we may as well take off the sweeper and go for it with the strong breeze. No point in going out with a whimper while playing a sweeper who isnât offering any protection anyway, and who is constantly gifting possession back to Clare.
Paudie Foley on Tony Kelly hasnât worked at all. Foley missed a long range free early on and then duffed a line ball a couple of yards to Kelly for Clareâs first point. He seems spooked by it and Kellyâs been too good for him since then.
The likes of K Foley, Nolan and Chin have been fairly anonymous too. I canât get my head around some of the diabolical striking under no pressure from the keeper, Shaun Murphy and some others. Weâve given them possession in our own half and theyâve popped over a few points from it.
Analysts here going on about tactics over a load of clips of Wexford hitting balls straight to Clare lads.
Wexford look a lot like Clare 2014-16. Low on energy and tactically shooting themselves in the foot.
Question is if they can do more than raise a brief rally, which is all Clare managed when going 7-8 down in those years.
Iâd be shocked if Wexford donât have some sort of kick in them.
I wouldnât
No idea.
Strong enough looking breeze in the second half the only hope for Wexford. They may as well go long. McDonald and OâConnor causing problems on limited and fairly agricultural supply so far.
Chin has literally done nothing.Hasnât touch the ball.Again.
Shaun Murphy blocked Conlon down at one stage but thatâs because he was standing on the âDâ. Heâs a sweeper in title but heâs fairly stationary in that central area 25 yards out, doesnât really work across the flanks to cover off angles for passes and doesnât distribute the ball that well.
Clare got one point from a puck out where Tony Kelly made a diagonal run from centre forward to midfield under the stand and then knocked it down the line to Conlon who got out in front of Ryan, turned and pointed. Sweeper not in the picture.
Wexford are putrid
Thatâs a lovely tie Eddie has on.
Their hurlers are not much better.
Attendance 10,255
Chin sighting
Iâd have much preferred if our game vs KK was on in Cork cc @CyrilFarrell
Shaun Murphy must be colour blind
