Back in yer box ye cunts

Game went exactly to script. Ye could write yere own reviews without being there. Not much prep for whats coming in two weeks.

Backs are obviously being coached up, were positionally good and were trying hard to use the ball well. But bar daithi heads weren’t in it, beaten physically by offalys big hoor forward line a few too many times.

JC had a good second half, the other a good first, whelan is a joy to watch. Mannion dipped in and out. Concannon might look good on paper after but wasn’t convincing and shouldn’t be keeping flynn out. My first time seeing david burke in years, he’s a genius, as good as canning. To use ice hockey parlance he makes others look good by passing it into space they cant see. Change in tactics though as we were flat out trying to work goals, excellent offaly keeper kept out a peno and at least three other shots that could have gone in.

Big galway crowd, but it was the one free game for season ticket holders so to be expected.

Galway will beat Kilkenny.

You must have been at a different game to me. The full back line was very poor. Daithi’s touch was way off and unlike him, he was regularly outrucked when the ball went to ground. Gearoid Mac the same in the 1st half but improved in the 2nd. Mannion & Hanbury the only backs that played consistently well.
David Burke had a poor 1st half but was magnificent in the 2nd. The forwards played really well as a unit and all contributed with great movement. Agreed re: Baby Joe, His magnificent league form has continued and is an early contender for HOTY.
If the Galway backs don’t improve significantly in a fortnight KK will take them. However I’m confident that game will bring us on a ton and am really looking forward to Salthill now.

Who took up Shane Dooley for most of the game?

Was Harte sweeping?

Both Touhy and Hanbury had spells on him but he wasn’t on his game, missing a few handy frees.
There was a huge amount of positional rotation. Strangely enough, when Offaly went down 5 points their shape became more defensive but there didn’t seem to be a clear cut sweeper as there was a lot of positional rotation.
Regarding Harte, after a very poor league he had a decent game but looked the unfittest of those involved.

Daithi was on a physically bigger man in Mahon for the most of it, he stumbled once in the second half and let him in but he was never turned other than that. Do you not remember the years of chaos at full back we had to endure? I said above that the backs were positionally right in that they cleaned up most of the loose dropping ball and worked it well to the half back line but that they were well beaten, especially physically. It’s in my posts above there. You basically are saying everything I did.

Padraig Mannion was average, blocked down a few times, caught in possession and he drove a few aimless balls.

Dooley rotated around kp, was in the half forward line for a good while, got a great goal but missed gettable frees, had too much to do. Mac was sweeping for a lot of the second half, Harte for a lot of the first. Offaly moved around to try and prevent Harte or whoever just playing sweeper.

That looks like a good camera on your phone. What phone is it?

I’m really hoping the dubs put it right up to kk today. If they can Stop tj then they’ve a huge chance of going close.
