It was 2007, wexford were poorly supported. The hoorlin and football qualifiers in damp summer evenings late noughties were electric. Half empty stadiums, Thunderstorms, de lights on. Tannian timbered all round him after in what was an epic moral victory for us over the GOATs

No they didnāt. It was level after 60 odd minutes. Iirc Kilkenny got a fortunate enough goal and kicked on as they did at that time but Galway gave them bags of it. Alan Kerins had a blinder the same day.

To my eye, that 2007 AI quarter final was only matched or surpassed for standard during the decade by the KIlkenny-Tipperary 2002 AI semi final and the 2009 AIF. The 2009 Kilkenny-Galway Leinster quarter final.was also a fine standard.
Someone (derek hardiman?) ran over a ball and eddie brennan got in for a goal that killed it. Kerins was able to turn it on alright i remember him getting five points off philly larkin in one half earlier that decade
John lee was another lovely hurler from that decade that never really kicked on. I think he was a doctor.
