Just read the Shannon article. I think his columns are a great read normally. But that was just a cheap, unnecessary, shot at CM. Shannon will feel brunt of this from playersand contacts in cork in due course id guess.
His championing of Paudie Murray as potential next cork coach is interestingâŚto say the least. Paudie has some record, but he fancies himself something rotten
A lapsed TFK poster also championed Paudie Murray for the role a few years back. I donât want to get Megan Rapinoe and Sinead from The Journal on my back, but the level is the equivalent of boyâs u14 or u16. I doubt youâd find (m)any people arguing that an underage development squad manager should be their next senior county manager. Also, the standard in last yearâs All Ireland Senior Camogie Final was terribly poor. It was one of the first years (as part of the move for equality) where journalists actually called it out for being totally shit. Cork had 6 shots at the posts from play in the entire game and basically won a free taking competition.
I went out of my way to find an online stream to watch a mickey mouse hurling game between Kerry & Offaly this year, although I did have money on it to be fair.
I donât think it has to be a case of one or the other.
Easiest thing for the GAA to do is give TG4 the rights to the Joe McDonagh and televise one game every week at 3pm on the Saturday. This is the time they currently take place anyway. Let the second tier football championship take this slot then and maybe look to give the second tier one or two of the main slots slots when round 3 of the super eights and all ireland semi finals are on or ever play them as curtain raisers ahead of All Ireland semis.
You would still have your 5pm and 7pm slots on a Saturday and your 2pm and 4pm on a Sunday.
