Simpletons like tyrell don’t really understand limericks position. If limerick win a double this year it’ll be the greatest achievement in hurling since Wexford in the 50s won a double. No country that has had a ten year drought of no all Ireland winshas backed up the following year since that Wexford team. Clare in 94 had a break year, like the dub footballers in 2011 and Tyrone always almost had a year off in between all Ireland’s. It’s a very difficult thing to do. Cork doubled up in 03/04 but a good shot of the squad had been involved in 99. After a break through year the squad needs time. Clare 2013 is another example and even Galway last year too. The new system gives limerick a chance but it’s still very tough.

Jackie is on record as saying Limerick aren’t in his top 3 picks to win the all Ireland this year before a ball was picked so I’d say he’s fairly smug at the minute
