Fuck Cork.
Thatās not true. If you couldnāt see his worth to the Cork team before Sunday then you have little appreciation as to what he brings to the Cork team. More often than not he plays a sitting role in midfield and often picks up the opposition centre forward when he moves from the centre forward position allowing Ellis to hold the middle and provide additional cover to the full backline and allow the defence to hold its shape. By him and Ellis keeping their shape this allows Fitzgibbon and Kearney especially additional room and freedom to roam and get on the ball. He does a lot of tidying up on breaking ball too which he normally gives to the runners off him with little fuss to start attacks.
He is not a classy hurler by any mans but is very hard working mobile player and utterly selfless and an excellent team player. He wasnāt the difference between the teams but it is no surprise to see the Cork defensive shape utterly crumble without him in place.
Will you ever tire of educating simpletons like The Mouse on hurling matters?
will you ever tire of licking peoples holes?
Will you get to a game yourself this year old pal? Will I see you in Thurles perhaps?
Like clock workā¦
Hard not to think of Joe over the weekend ā¦ @Fagan_ODowd will Waterford win?
Was chatting with @caulifloweredneanderthal offline -will be bitter sweet if Clare win it this year.
Heād have been delighted with the Tipp win solely because heād know it would drive a few of the Limerick lads mental.
My point is that there is more talk about BC in the last 48 hours than there has been in the last 48 months . Anyone with any knowledge of the game knows what he brings but even if he played Sunday I think Tipp would have won convincingly ,
Cork struggled because Tipp stopped the short game and made them go long . The Tipp half back line were utterly dominant in second half tbh . Midfield was nearly redundant .
2 key points.
Which is exactly what Cork need. A mullocker.
Is he a bit of a nutter, threw a lot of shapes at OāBrien when he came on last Sunday, mad for a scrap he was
The gaps in midfield were shocking - 20 yards of space ā¦ surely the Cork line should have seen this but instead Cork players played it long and took too long in doing it and no change in tactics ā¦ no word to tell Nash change it up ā¦ very slow in making subs.
Bill Cooper can cover those gaps in no time
Joe Canning wears Bill Cooper pajamas
Throwing shapes at the wrong member of the fullback line, itās little coincidence that the 3 members of the Tipp fullback line come from the three surrounding parishes to Rearcross. With the RāCross lads venturing out of their own lands and encroaching on your town-lands, you quickly learn to look after yourself.
If you want to give a bit of timber, be prepared to get it back
Id be reasonably optimistic of a Cork victory on Sunday.
Why so?
Because they have a game plan & outlook which troubles Limerick continually.
Because itās only Limerick theyāre playing.
