A strangely frantic first half. Tactically it’s in Tipp’s favour. This pattern of play suits their forward-line, pacier and have a better spread of good finishers. Their almost total lack of primary ball-winning capability hasn’t been an issue.
Very much up for grabs still. Looks like we’ll have more goals.
This is a weird game. Completely disagree with RTE commentary. It seems to be riddled with errors and being played in a muted atmosphere. Some of the Kilkenny defenders look very lacking in pace and Tipperary are picking off scores in lots of space without having to do too much. Cathal Barrett cementing his YOTY claims at the other end but Kilkenny are winning enough ball upfront to stay competitive.
Good competitive game. Very little between them. Thought Kelly has got the calls right in my opinion. Larkin was off the ground for that one they didn’t get, and Hogan pushed maher in the back for a free that looked soft on first viewing. Wally Walsh been totally anonymous.
